Nu är jag tillbaka från Tokyo som Yondan, dvs jag blev godkänt på
WKO (World Karate Organization) examination den 2 mars och har numera
graden Svart bälte med 4 Dan. Tack!!!

Tack till alla som hejat och stöttat mig

Under min vistelse i Japan träffade jag min Japanske vän Kiminori Eto som själv är Shodan i Kyokushin men är mycket intresserad av budo och även tränar andra budoarter.
Teori är nog så viktigt och nyttigt för oss att berika våran kunskap med.

Jag bad Kiminori att tolka några titlar som används inom budo och karate.
Vi kan alla lära oss av detta oavsett om vi är chefer, medmänniskor, föräldrar, coacher mm.

SHIHAN:
”Shi” originally means a mentor, a preceptor, a master.
”Han” originally means an example, model
So ”Shihan” is a person who is the mentor and at the same is a person who is a role-model of the life, of the Budo, of the mental, etc.
Shihan should always show the good example to your students and to other people. The important thing is, just good at teaching Kyokushi Karate is not required for Shihan.
Senpai or Sensei is the person who shall be skilled at teaching Karate technics.
But, Shihan must influence the way of the life, how human have to behave, the good spirit and mental. Not just good at teaching the technic of Karate or Budo.
Mental thing, the way of life, people’s behavior are not a technics or knowhow that you can teach, but you only can teach by influencing.
Which means Shihan must be the role-model /examples, and students will follow/observe/copy/repeat of what Shihan does and learn it.
People will never be learned if just Shihan shouts, orders, forces, pressures. Students will be honest if Shihan is honest. Students will be humble if Shihan is humble. Student will be polite if Shihan is polite. Student will respect others if Shihan respects you.
Shihan is not a King, but a good spirit.
Shihan is not a dictator, but a role model of the life.
We always say, ”When you look at student, you will know who the Shihan is.” ” Dojo is a miller of Shihan.”
